Epsom Salt, Himalayan Salt and Dead Sea Salt: good uses

It is common to hear about Epsom Salt, Himalayan Salt or Dead Sea Salt. Nevertheless, many people wonder about their particularity and still ignore their various uses. These natural resources are all well known in cosmetics and therapeutic care thanks to their benefits.

Epsom Salt

Obtained from natural underground minerals, it takes its name from the Epsom Salt Station in England. It is a salt rich in both magnesium and sulfate, hence its scientific name: magnesium sulfate. Since these two elements are easily absorbed by the skin, its use is very popular in cosmetic care. Its richness in magnesium gives it soothing and relaxing properties for the body. It is often spas that can use Himalayan Salt and Epsom Salt as bath salts. While nourishing the skin, it promotes sleep for insomniacs. In practice, a dosage of 4 tablespoons in the bath water is enough to relax.

Himalayan Salt

Extracted from the salt rocks in the heart of the Himalayan mountains, this pink raw salt is especially rich in trace elements and minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium, copper, manganese, phosphorus and zinc. Used in a quantity of 3 to 4 tablespoons in the bath water, it is an ideal detoxifier and remineralizer for the skin. It is also used as an ingredient in products such as toothpaste, scrubbing products and saline solution for the nose. Using Himalayan salt in cooking is also possible. However, it is not recommended to consume it on a daily basis, as it is not iodized.

Dead Sea Salt

The salt of the Dead Sea is known especially for its abundance of minerals. It is composed of 26 essential minerals, including potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, etc. It is also highly prized in cosmetics. Just like using Himalayan Salt, incorporating it into bath water with a few drops of essential oil helps relieve joint and muscle pain. Moreover, Dead Sea Salt can also be used as an exfoliant for body scrubbing, at a rate of one to two tablespoons on wet skin. Its healing property helps to repair skin problems such as eczema, itching or acne.
